Voiceless is an experimental documentary about “being” in contemporary society. The piece focuses on casual conversations between 21 and 22 year olds in Japan. People float between the often ambiguous reality of physicality, the complexities of institutional and capitalistic systems, mental head space and the world of the Internet. The piece moves fluidly between all of the musing a complex structure of imagery including: contemporary jazz composition, contemporary dance, suburban landscapes, casual conversation, and poetry. Voiceless aims to make the audience feel the exquisite harmony that contemporary society creates through discord.
